itinerary

Here's a sample itinerary of what your trip could look like.

meet & greet

Our guides will greet you at our base camp, located on Kawawaymog Lake in the northwest corner of the park.

expedition prep

We'll help you pack down your gear into compressed drybags that fit well into our canoes, along with the rest of our gear for the journey. Together, we'll load up the boats and push off for our adventure.

getting to camp

We'll be staying on a relatively large island, 3 lakes over from where we launch. To get there, we'll paddle for 2-3 hours and work together to carry the boats and equipment ("portaging") between the lakes - a fun and rewarding challenge.

leadership workshops

We'll guide you through a variety of curated exercises that help you develop your leadership skills and presence, using nature as our canvas.

guided activities in nature

Throughout your trip, we'll be guiding you on hikes, day trips in the canoes, meditations, yoga, and breathwork exercises that help you feel calm, balanced, and alive.

enjoying the small moments

Much of the magic of this trip is simply being present – breathing in fresh air, hearing the sounds of birds, and having moments of laughter, connection, and awe in this truly unique part of the world.

destination highlights

Warm up after a long day of paddling

Wood Fire Saunas

Our wood fire saunas are the perfect compliment to the luxuries of nature. Pairs well with a dip in the lake!

Nature's best light show

Incredible Sunsets

The sunsets in Algonquin are hard to describe. There's something about the way they spread out across a huge horizon, reflect off the lake, and warm your heart.

A signature backcountry challenge

Portaging Canoes

Learning to portage a canoe isn't just a physical challenge, it's a right of passage. To get between lakes, you'll learn to carry the boats overhead and walk them through the forest.

The oldest ritual we know

Campfire Council

Humans have been sitting around fires for roughly 2 million years. There's something truly special about seeing the embers glow as we tell stories, recount our day, and enjoy delicious campfire s'mores.

Channel the leader within

Leadership Workshops

Our "somatic" leadership exercises help you learn about your unconscious patterns and how they affect your work and relationships, then transform them in an embodied way.

The trip challenged me in the best way possible

Chris and his team were the perfect guides for this fun and transformational experience. Chris is in his element in a canoe and in the Algonquin terrain. He pushed us while allowing us the space to learn and grow. We ate well, were supplied with all the equipment we would need, and always felt safe. Reach out to Chris and his teamand see how they can create an experience that will touch your soul!

I overcame my entrepreneurial overwhelm

In situations where i previously wasn't doing a good job of taking control (ie. a moment of entrepreneurial overwhelm, self-sabotage) - I didn't have the tools to stop those interactions. Now, that’s completely changed.

I had such a great, transformative time

I left for the trip feeling pulled away from my life (work/wife/kids/etc) and I came back feeling refreshed and given another chance to enjoy life.

CK and his crew are awesome. They managed to guide, care for, and feed a group of 30 without a hitch. This was a trip for a mens' empowerment group and we ate like kings every day.

CK was able to bring such a vibe and skill that even the most "manly man" was willing to talk about the challenges they've had and to help each other heal and grow.

The right opportunity to unplug and reconnect with myself

The retreat was an incredible safe space and community of men to grow in wellbeing and make a paradigm shift together into further growth and healing. As a busy COO of one of America's fastest-growing companies, it's been so long since l've had the right opportunity to unplug and take the special time needed to reconnect with myself, find healing, and practice mindfulness - and the Reconnect Retreat was the perfect place to do that and even discover like-minded brothers and get excellent guidance in emotional wellbeing.

A sense of safety that allowed me to bring down my walls

From the moment everyone was together, Louis and Jack created a warm, open, and accepting environment for everyone.

There was an immediate sense of safety that allowed me to bring down my walls and truly explore myself and express it.

Details were meticulous. Every morning, there were sessions to settle into yourself for the experiences of the day. I would encourage anyone looking to deepen their self-awareness and care to do so with skilled guides to not think twice about attending a POC retreat. The only bad thing I have to say is that I wanted more time with the incredible men who attended the retreat.

What makes POC's leadership retreats unique?

Plus Circle Icon

All of our retreats and expeditions are held in nature — from cozy retreat centers in stunning locations to rugged, remote wilderness. What sets us apart is the combination of immersive outdoor experiences with deeply facilitated leadership work, including team building, somatic practices, and experiential workshops designed to unlock personal and professional growth.

How can I learn more about the programming you facilitate?

Plus Circle Icon

Each retreat or expedition is built around a core of leadership development. We use a blend of guided workshops, somatic tools, group reflection, and nature-based challenges to deepen awareness, build emotional intelligence, and strengthen team dynamics. If you'd like to see a sample itinerary or speak with us directly, we’re happy to share more. Contact us here.

What if I or someone on my team have a medical problem?

Plus Circle Icon

We do our best to accommodate a wide range of health needs. Some of our experiences are physically demanding, especially expeditions, while others are more accessible. Please let us know about any medical conditions in advance so we can help you choose the right trip and ensure you're supported. We can also cater to most common food allergies and dietary needs, including peanut, soy, and shellfish allergies, as well as vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free diets.

What do retreats and expeditions typically cost?

Plus Circle Icon

Pricing varies depending on the length, location, and style of the experience. Most of our multi-day retreats start at a minimum of $3,000 USD per person while expeditions tend to be higher due to logistics and remoteness. We’re happy to discuss options and what’s included during a call.

What if I have more questions?

Plus Circle Icon

We’d love to hear from you. If you have any questions about our experiences, what’s involved, or how to decide if it’s the right fit, just reach out through our contact form or submit an application to work with us here.
